Cagiva Mito 125

The Cagiva Mito is a 125cc sports motorcycle designed in 1989 and styled by Italian Massimo Tamburini. The Mito bears a strong resemblance to the Ducati 916 (also designed by Tamburini).

It has undergone a couple of slight changes over the years, including the Evolution 1 and 2 models as well as the more recent SP series. However the body work has remained pretty much the same for the past 15 years or so (and what bodywork it is!).

It's important to note that while the Cagiva Mito is one of the more powerful 125cc motorcycles available out there, it must be restricted to about 13 bhp if you are on a provisional motorcycle licence (which they normally are from the manufacturer).

Technical Specifications of the Mito Evolution

  • Max Power: >33 Bhp
  • Displacement: 124.63cc
  • Dry Weight: 129kg
  • Seat Height: 760mm
  • Wheelbase: 1375mm

The Evolution models feature a 6-speed gearbox while the earlier models have a 7-speed gearbox.

When it comes to tuning up your Cagiva Mito, there are all sorts options available to you. They range from standard 2-stroke engine tuning to bigger carbs and exhaust systems. There is of course the option of derestricting your Cagiva Mito to get full use of the 33+ bhp and automatically add a good 3500 rpm.
